Miss Valencia Soh Ywee Xian obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the National University of Singapore in June 2016 and was admitted to the Bar in August 2017.
She completed her Practice Training Contract at PY Legal LLC, where she has since remained with. Valencia handles a variety of matters, including corporate, criminal, civil claims and matrimonial proceedings.
During her Law School days, Valencia was actively involved in the enhancement of the criminal justice system, participating in the NUS Criminal Justice Club’s Innocence Project, as well as pioneering developmental works with the Law Society of Singapore for a criminal law search host website. She also took a strong interest in contributing to the pro bono scene by assisting at Legal Clinics regularly. In 2015, Valencia was a Semi-Finalist for the B.A. Mallal Moot.
Valencia is a keen advocate of the Mediation process, which she finds meaning in and believes is the preferred future of dispute resolution – a more accessible and inclusive platform to fairness and justice. Her mediation pursuits have seen her volunteering at the Singapore International Mediation Centre, and clinched her the 2nd prize for the essay titled “Mediation Advocacy: Doing Good, Doing Right, Doing Well”. She was published in the inaugural issue of “Contemporary Issues in Mediation” by the Singapore International Mediation Institute. Valencia also participated in the Global Pound Conference Series (Singapore 2016), the inaugural conference by the International Mediation Institute.
Valencia is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law and the Law Society of Singapore.
